Norah Guide installs the next article in the blog discussion series on wish fulfillment, wish omens, and all of those lovely opportunities to make wishes that nature and the world has to offer. If you want more of these wish omens, be sure you are logged into the Norah Guide Facebook page, or following me on Pinterest so that you don’t miss one single opportunity to make those wishes and manifest the life of your dreams. Today we cover the all too famous wishbone! There’s more to this wish omen than meets the eye, be sure you are doing it right if you want to have all of your wishes come true.
The most famous custom with wishbones is that you and a partner pull on either side of the wishbone making your wish as you do so. The person that gets the larger piece of the bone will get their wish. BUT, and this is a big one, if you try to “cheat” by holding your finger on the head of the bone to give yourself leverage, your wish will be invalidated. Some traditions believe the wish will automatically transfer the wish to the other person.
Now, if you want to spread some good karma the next time you and a friend or family member grab that wishbone, put your finger on the head to give yourself leverage and grant your wishbone partner their wish!
Another interesting twist to this one is that the person that gets the shortest piece of the wishbone will be the first one of the two to get married. Some traditions also say that if you say “lucky break” when you make the break, and make a silent wish, then you will also get a wish come true.
To enhance the power of the wishbone before you make the wish, dry the wishbone out in the Sun, or on your kitchen window sill like I do. The Sun is the power and giver of life, and so drying the wishbone in the Sun will charge it so to speak to make it a more powerful wish omen. If you don’t have a partner to break the bone on, keep the bone on your window sill and touch it every time you want to make a wish.
That’s it for today folks! Be sure you are in our Facebook circle to get even MORE wish opportunities almost every day throughout the whole month of January! Never forget, word your wishes wisely, because if you do them right, they most certainly will come true. Happy wishing, love, Norah Guide.
