Full Moons occur when the Sun and Moon sit in opposite signs in the sky so this lunar phase always speaks to balancing polarities as well as looking at how opposites can energize each other. The Full Moon of Friday, April 6 will see the Moon in relationship-focused Libra, ruled by Venus, while the Sun moves through self-oriented Aries, under the rulership of Mars.

This will be the first full moon after the equinox and takes place immediately before both Easter and Passover, so the energy of the planets on this day will resonate across several spiritual traditions. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, this is the first full moon of spring, while for those in the Southern Hemisphere, this full moon lights the way into fall. Either way, the proximity of this Full Moon to the equinox amplifies the theme of balance.

This full moon occurs at 17 degrees Aries/Libra at 1:20pm MST.
